UPDATE: Greg Oden Arrested

Former Terre Haute resident and NBA player Greg Oden was arrested early this morning outside a home in Lawrence. He was charged with two counts of misdemeanor battery.
Greg Oden, the former Lawrence North basketball star who grew up in Terre Haute, was arrested early Thursday morning in Marion county.

Oden posted $10,000 bond and was released just after 6PM on Thursday. Early reports say he will be monitored through a GPS ankle bracelet.

Police responded to a call about a disturbance at a home in Lawrence.

After speaking with Oden outside the house, officers found a woman lying inside on a couch with blood covering her face.

The victim had cuts on her forehead and nose.

There was blood on the sofa and floor of the living room.

A witness told police Oden punched the woman in the face.

Officers say Oden admitted hitting the victim during an argument.

He now faces misdemeanor battery charges.

Oden graduated from Lawrence North high school in 2006.

He played at Ohio State for one season and was selected first overall in the 2007 NBA draft by the Portland Trail Bblazers.

He signed with the Miami Heat last year.
