Tommy John Gives Valedictorian Speech

John returns to Terre Haute to gave a speech he wasn't allowed to give 53 years ago.
Tommy John is the valedictorian for the class of 1961 at Gerstmeyer Technical High School.

53 years ago he wasn't allowed to give his valedictorian speech... it was never explained to him why. John had a clue.

He stuttered. John said he didn't think too much about why he wasn't allowed to give the speech. He had bigger things to worry about -- like signing a Major League Baseball contract.

John went on to play many years in MLB. Sunday he returned to Terre Haute to finally give his valedictorian speech.

He shared words of wisdom with the 2014 class of Terre Haute North Vigo High School.

Superintendent Danny Tanoos invited John to speak to "right a wrong".
