Terre Haute is rushing to get workers access to a contaminated dump site.
The city is looking at bids for an access road leading to the site off of Prairieton Road and Hulman Street.
Sugar Creek Scrap gave the property to the city in 2012. The EPA found high levels of lead on the property not long after that. It has to be cleaned up before the city can start work on a floatable control structure--part of combined sewer overflow project.
Officials say once they pick a contractor the road should be finished in two to three weeks.
