Tech Talk-Selfies

Who selfies more?
We've seen President Obama do it. Ellen's Oscar night selfie has more than two-million retweets.
This one little way to take a picture is pretty popular. The project "Selfiecity" has researchers giving the selfie a hard look.
City University of New York, California Institute of Telecommunication and Information and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation researched this. Thousands of selfies shared online from Instagram, Facebook and others were studied and cataloged.
These selfies were taken from residents in five International cities -- including Bangkok, New York and Sao Paulo.
The project found women take significantly more selfies than men -- but once women hit 40 -- the trend reverses itself.
For people age 40 and over -- its the men who snap more.
The median age of selfie snapper turned out to be 23 point 7.
Researchers say the selife is more than just self promotion. It's also about creative self expression and has turned into a communal and social practice.
It's such a big phenomenon -- there was this whole study done about a simple way to take a photo.
It made me curious. Who are the selfie leaders here at the station.
An unscientific study finds Anne-Elise Parks leading the pack with Syd the kid not far behind. These two team-selfie alot. I think I just created a new word.         Some of the morning crew enjoying a pre-dawn selfie.
I find the selfie a little silly, but the selfie is here to stay.
