Tech Talk-Android Widgets

Handy and dandy
Let's start with clock and weather apps.
Beautiful Widgets is a theme-able weather and clock combo. One-99 gets you the full version that unlocks customizable fonts and background colors.
The Animated Analog Clock Widget ticks along like a regular wall clock. Nice flair.
For a full-feature and detailed weather widget, try 1Weather. An added bonus, it's free.
        Time for news apps.
The Scrollable News Widget loads the RSS news feeds of your choosing. It's a tidy and simple scrollable timeline on your home screen.
If you like the reddit forums for news, try Reddinator. The scrollable widget shows you the top stories in the subreddit of your choosing.
        Notes apps are handy.
Google's own note-taking app is Google Keep. This is a neat widget showing your newest saved lists, notes and photos. Quick access buttons let you jot something down on the spot.
The Evernote Widget is a must-have for Evernote lovers. You'll get a quick glance of your recently viewed documents. Shortcuts to app settings and things like creating new notes and reminders.
Utilities apps aren't sexy, but they're time savers.
If you're sick and tired of scrolling through your mountain of apps to find the one you want, then you'll love App Dialer. This reminds me of the old flip phone T9 method. Key in the first few letters of the app you want, and whomp, there it is.
Customize a set of system settings shortcuts on your home screen by using Slider. The widget lets you change ringer and system volumes, or screen brightness, all without navigating through several settings screens.
Finally, the NiLS widget displays all of your latest notifications on your lock screen. You don't have to unlock or pull down the notifications panel to see what's happening. Touching a particular alert and unlocking the phone will bring you right into the associated app.
