Sullivan Comes Together for Toddler Killed in Fire

Emma Lloyd, just a year and a half old, died in a daycare fire on March 4. On Sunday, dozens gathered for a benefit in her memory. All of the money raised will help cover funeral and other expenses. You can also donate to the Emma Lloyd fund at any Harris Bank.
The Sullivan County community came together Sunday night to help the family of a toddler killed earlier this month.

Emma Lloyd, just a year and a half old, died in a daycare fire on March 4.

On Sunday, dozens gathered for a benefit in her memory.

Volunteers organized a bake sale, silent auction and even corn hole tournament.

All of the money raised will help cover funeral and other expenses.

Lloyd family friends say it means so much to see that Emma's legacy will live on:

"It has been absolutely overwhelming...just the amount of support that people have given," said Erica Roberts, who also helped organize the event.  "I think that it really just shows what a small community, how we come together in such a tragic loss."

An online account is collecting donations for the rest of the night.

You can also donate to the Emma Lloyd fund at any Harris Bank.

A benefit for the daycare is set for April 18 and 19 at the Downtown Sullivan gym.
