State Rep. Kreg Battles Resigns

Vincennes State Representative (D-45) announces his resignation from his seat in the Indiana House and will not seek re-election in November.
Indiana State Representative Kreg Battles is leaving his seat in the Indiana Statehouse.

The Vincennes Democrat announced today that he will resign from the Indiana House of Representatives and will not seek re-election in November.

Battles, who was first elected to the House in 2006, said in a statement that he wants to spend more time with his family. Battles and his wife have two children and five grandchildren.

Battles was known for his work on education issues. He has taught at Vincennes Lincoln High School for more than 30 years.

His district includes parts of Knox, Daviess, Greene, Sullivan and Vigo counties.
