State Educators Evaluate New Academic Standards

Educators are wrapping up a two-day worktable as they look for the best best academic guidelines for all Hoosier classrooms.
Indiana educators will be hard at work Friday completing evaluation sessions for new academic standards.

A plan to scrap the Common Core State Standards Initiative passed the state house in early February.

Now, evaluators are busy looking into curriculum design, as well as establishing assessment to determine student progress.

Elected standards will be available for public comment Feb. 19. The board of education hopes to make a final review at its April meeting.
