Russell Sentence Reversed

State appeals sentence after plea agreement and is told the sentence could be even longer.
A Terre Haute man who's in prison for ten years may spend a lot more time behind bars.

Larry Russell made a plea deal after admitting he abused his three adopted children. You may recall they were treated horribly and Vigo County originally sentenced Russell to 24 years for neglect of a dependent and criminal confinement.

The sentence, though, was reduced to ten years citing a limit on the crimes involved.

The State of Indiana said that limit was wrong and the appellate court agreed.

Now Russell will be sentenced again and this time, he could receive as much as a 56 year prison term for his crimes.

A date to re-sentence has not been set.
