The city said it "painted the town red" in honor of Skelton the last two days.

Carnival rides, food, and of course comedy were all part of the fun.

Organizers say the event is a great way to remember the life of one of America's most beloved clowns.

"The reason we have the festival is to honor red Skelton and his work and his career and how it all got started in Vincennes," Shyla Beam, who helped organized the festival said.

The event was sponsored by the Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy.
