Open Arms Ministries in Greene County
hosted a volunteer appreciation event Sunday afternoon.

Those who work with the organization were invited to the luncheon.

Open Arms helps over 250 kids in need each year.

From housing to education, their goal is to make sure every Hoosier child has a bright future.

Officials say that work could not be done without the help of the hundreds of volunteers:

"We have state representatives that are supportive of open arms, we have senators that are supported, we just have all kinds of different folks that are part of this ministry and we just want to tell them how much we appreciate them," said executive director Marty Corey.

Over 100 people attended the appreciation ceremony, including our very own Chief Meteorologist Jesse Walker, who was a guest speaker.
