Indiana State Treasurer Resigns

Mourdock leaving to pursue professional opportunities
The treasurer of Indiana quit today.  Richard Mourdock gave a letter of resignation to Governor Mike Pence, effective at the end of business Friday.

Mourdock, who's term was over at the end of the year, is leaving the office to pursue other professional interests.

In a meeting with his staff, Mourdock noted the accomplishments of his seven and a half years in office, including how more than 200 units of local government are now saving money in TrustINdiana, the state's local government pool created by Mourdock.
