This weekend starts off with some of the coldest temperatures we've had this season with a low of -14º in Terre Haute; the coldest day yet was January 7 with -15º. Wind chills values remain well below zero to start with some areas as low as -25º so a Wind Chill Advisory stays in place through midday. Even with this bitterly cold start, highs return to the low teens today with plenty of sunshine across the region. Tonight won't be as cold in the high single digits as cloud cover and possible snow flurries move in late tonight. Tomorrow highs reach the mid 20s with some scattered, light snow showers moving through by midday. This light snow will stay in the forecast through the weekend with only minor accumulations for the Valley; most will receive around an inch or less with any higher amounts to our north nearing 2". We'll keep an eye on early next work week as a system to our south may bring snow chances close by. Any "break" from the bitterly cold doesn't look to arrive until later next week when 30s return to the forecast.
