A colder air mass has filled in to the Valley with many locations nearing 0º this morning with sub-zero wind chill values for most. Tonight we will drop below zero with wind chills as low as -20º. Frigid nights will be accompanied with bitterly cold afternoons in the teens today and tomorrow. The good news? We have sunshine through much of this work week. Today heavy cloud cover early on will be on its way out through the day with mostly sunny sky by later afternoon. These clear conditions mean a quick drop of tonight to near record lows tonight. The record at the station is -6º set in 1955. A gradual reprieve is on the way by later this week with 30s making a comeback by Thursday. As we are closer to seasonable temperatures this weekend, we'll also move into a more unsettled pattern with low chances of a winter mix.
