Medical issue likely the cause of Monday's second fatal wreck on I-70

Medical officials think a medical emergency lead to a crash along I-70 Monday afternoon. The 74-year-old driver from Massachusetts later died at the Putnam County Hospital.

Monday was a deadly day along a stretch of I-70. In addition to a fatal accident involving a couple semis and a car, another person died after crashing into trees.

Officials think a medical emergency may have caused Francis Paquette's van to crash in Putnam County. Police say the 74-year-old of Massachusetts veered off the road near mile marker 47. His van went into a ditch and struck several bushes and trees.

Paquette was taken to the Putnam County Hospital where he later died.
