$10,000 of brand new playground equipment is set to arrive on Monday. It includes new ground cover, swings and spinning equipment. The improvements also include getting rid of the old monkey bars and merry-go-round.
A $500 grant from REMC and a possible grant from the Green County Foundation are paying for the upgrades.
"The equipment we have out there is old, it really needs to be replaced. And so that is why we are doing the project. We just feel like it would be a good thing for the community because of so many children being out there," said Gloria Klass, a member of the Park Board.
The board has two scheduled fundraisers for more equipment, as well as donation jars throughout the community. The next project is to get a new slide.
