Hometown Hero-John Wrightsman

The Terre Haute native has served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves serving four tours overseas.
Our latest Hometown Hero is Sgt. John Wrightsman.  Sgt. Wrightsman graduated from Terre Haute South in 1999 and joined the U.S. Army Reserve in 2000 and served with the 478th Engineers in Terre Haute. He was first deployed in the initial invasion of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.  Just five days before he left he married Amanda Bays and they are the proud parents of Claire and Emma.  After his tour in Iraq, Sgt. Wrightsman went to Active Duty and served over 7 years with deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait.  He is currently serving in the Army Reserves once again at Camp Atterbury as an instructor and is also attending Indiana State University to become a teacher. A dedicated soldier and father makes Sgt. John Wrightsman our latest Hometown Hero.
