ISU Scholarship Awards Laptops

Students who receive a 3.0 or higher in high school, and who are coming to Indiana State can apply for a scholarship for a free laptop. Over 2,000 were distributed during fall move-in.
After students get moved in, some Indiana State University freshman are lucky enough to go pick up a free laptop.

The Laptop Merit Scholarship is awarded to students who end high school with certain requirements, like a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

This year, they are distributing almost 2,000 laptops, doubled to what they have awarded in the past.

The free laptop is for the students personal use, and for studying purposes.

After their first semester, the laptop belongs to them for good.

Indiana State wants to make it possible for all students to have the chance to learn, with the proper tools.

Richard Toomey, with Indiana State University said, "So many of our students are looking to make sure they have funds for books, so the scholarship is ideal because were giving them the technology, the tools they need to be successful not only their first year, but all four years of college and it's something they'll have through out their career here at ISU."

If problems occur with the laptop, the school has on campus resources to help fix the issues for free.
