Saturday marked the school's 143rd commencement ceremony.
Indiana State University kicked things off first this morning.

Saturday marked the school's 143rd commencement ceremony.

More than 1,400 students received degrees.

The university estimates close to 8,000 people were on hand inside Hulman Center to honor the graduates.

The ceremony was historic.

As it marked the first time it was a ticketed-event.

Graduates were given five initial tickets, in an effort to prevent over crowding.

A jumbo screen was placed outside giving those without a ticket another viewing option.
