Hometown Hero-Jim Gilman

The Hymera native has risen to near the top of military medicine during his career in the Army

Our latest Hometown Hero is Jim Gilman.  Suffice it to say his story cannot be summed up in a few seconds.

The Hymera native completed med school at IU after graduating from Rose-Hulman where he's received an honorary doctorate.

Dr. Gilman began a medical career that led him all over the world in various commands, including the lead in the Walter Reed Health Care System. He is board certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.

Jim retired recently as Major General Jim Gilman, who has been, above all a loving husband and father as you've seen in these photos.

More than enough for Major General Jim Gilman, retired to be our latest Hometown Hero.
