Terre Haute native worked under several presidents in the Secret Service

Our latest Hometown Hero is C. William Higginbotham.  Bill Higginbotham has received numerous awards and citations for his work with seven American Presidents. 

Higginbotham was the Chief of the Secret Service at the White House.  He was directly involved with Presidents Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford and Carter.

Higginbotham was involved in several major national news events including the burial of President Kennedy in Arlington National Cemetery.

This is a program from years past where he was telling his story of his life with seven Presidents.
