Graffiti Removal Ordinance Off The Table

Officials withdrew a graffiti removal ordinance at Thursday night's Terre Haute city council meeting. It was up for a vote, but council members could not agree on ways to enforce the law and how much it would cost the city.
An ordinance that would have forced property owners in Terre Haute to clean up graffiti on their property is off the table, at least for now.

Officials withdrew the ordinance at Thursday night's city council meeting.

It was up for a vote, but council members could not agree on ways to enforce the law and how much it would cost the city.

The ordinance would have required property owners to clean up graffiti on their property. If they didn't want to do it themselves, they could let the city do it for them.

Officials say the ordinance will not be brought up again, unless they can come up with ways to improve it.
