Gov. Pence takes step to address propane shortage

Extremely cold temperatures have lead to a propane shortage in Indiana. Governor Pence issued an emergency proclamation to help suppliers meet market demands.

This winter's extremely cold temperatures have propane customers using more fuel than usual and that's lead to a shortage in Indiana.

Governor Mike Pence is taking a step to make propane more available during the shortage.

The time propane transporters spend on the road is limited by federal regulations. Pence has issued an emergency proclamation to waive those limits until the end of the month.

The goal is to help suppliers meet the demand.

Nevertheless, Pence still wants Hoosiers to conserve propane as much as possible.

Department of Transportation trucks will use diesel fuel instead of propane through March 1
