A Rose Hulman freshman turned a high school hobby into a charity that's helping people who have run out of options.
Tim Balz is the founder and President of Freedom Chairs.
He created the charity when he was sixteen.
It repairs wheelchairs for folks in need.
The idea came about after seeing a classmate who needed a new wheelchair.
Fast forward to today and Freedom Chairs is in its third year and has already helped over eighty people who were out of options.
Tim purchased his first wheelchairs off of Craigslist with money he was saving for college.

Tim Balz- President of Freedom Chairs
"It needs to be your passion and if it's your passion you go for it and nothing will stand in your way. There is really no challenge that is too big for one person to overcome. Part of that challenge could be finding others to help you with your cause."
