Family Reacts to Arrest of Murder Suspect

A man is behind bars tonight for the 1998 murder of Erika Case. Clint Mackey is charged with count 1 murder. Case's family says the arrest is bitter sweet.
Clint Mackey is behind bars for the 1998 murder of Erika Case. The 33-year-old turned himself into police in Benton County, Iowa on Tuesday. Police say Mackey confessed to stabbing Case at least 33 times in the neck and face. Case was house sitting for a family friend in West Terre Haute at teh time of her murder. Her sister found her dead on the morning of September 7, 1998. Mackey was one of the last people to see Case alive. According to reports, he spent the evening in the home with Case eating pizza and swimming. Case's brother says it's a bittersweet moment for the family.

"On behalf of our family I would like to thank all law enforcement who are involved in my sister's case over the past 15 years. We are grateful we finally have closure. However, it is unfortunate our mother couldn't be here to witness this day. Thank you."
