Falling Tree Limb Kills Church Camp Director

60-year-old David Ira-Mitchell Bean was killed when a tree limb fell onto him at Camp Illiana in Washington, Indiana. Bean was the director of the camp.
The director of a local Christian youth camp is dead after an accident.

It happened at Camp Illiana in Washington, Indiana on Monday morning.

60-year-old David Ira-Mitchell Bean and camp staff member Cody Chapman were trying to remove a large, dead tree near a water slide.

They cut the tree at its base and Chapman was trying to pull it down with a rope attached to a tractor.

The rope broke and a large tree limb fell, hitting Bean's head.

Camp staff gave first aid while calling 911.

Bean was later pronounced dead at the scene.
