Emergency stay granted; same-sex marriages halted in Indiana

The Indiana Attorney General's motion for an emergency stay on same-sex marriage in the state has been granted.
Same-sex marriages are on hold in Indiana after a federal appeals court granted a stay requested by Indiana attorney General Greg Zoeller.

Attorney General Greg Zoeller's office initially asked a U.S. district court to stay Judge Richard Young's order. After waiting a couple days, Zoeller's office asked the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago for the stay. It granted the stay Friday afternoon.
