Duke Energy Hosting Job Fairs

Duke Energy Hosting Job Fairs

Duke energy is hosting job fairs in six communities to fill twenty entry-level positions.

Their goal is to recruit entry-level workers for existing and expected open positions in the Indiana service area.

The positions include distribution line workers, transmission line workers, transmission relay workers, and generation station workers.

Applicants are required to have a high school diploma or more, and should be able to use their hands and machineries.

Duke Energy is expected to receive over one thousand applications to fill the twenty positions.

"A lot of people are looking at Duke Energy as a good place to work and that's what we're wanting," said Greg Justis, Duke Energy GM of the Southwest Indiana service area. "We're wanting people that want to work at Duke Energy. The jobs that are open are good jobs, very good jobs, so that's a takeaway."

The utility will conclude their job fairs later this week with a fair in Bloomington tomorrow evening, and another on Thursday in Lafayette.

They hope to make hirings in six to eight weeks.
