Day one of the 12th annual Wabash Valley Pizza Hut Classic kicked off at Terre Haute South High School.
Due to heavy snow across the valley the tournament's start date was pushed back one day.
The first seven games were played, and despite the weather, the gym was nearly full all day.
Twenty seven games in all will be played over the course of the four day event.
The tournament's director was not surprised by the turnout.

Gary Fears- Tournament Director
"It's the Wabash Valley Classic. People love coming to this tournament...look forward to it all year. Snow or what they're here.  I think it may be equal to our best day overall. From probably the second game on we've been sixty or seventy percent full. Until this game here...probably eighty percent full."

The first forfeit in tournament history took place this year.
Due to heavy snow in Spencer, the Owen Valley Patriots were unable to play their 10 a.m. game versus Shakamak.
