City Council Discusses Construction and Beautification Projects

The Terre Haute City Council is discussing funding for two different kind of projects in the city. The projects include construction on Margaret Avenue and beautification on 3rd Street.
You'll soon notice several projects underway in Terre Haute. That was one topic of discussion at Thursday night's city council meeting.

Crews could begin construction soon on Margaret Avenue from 7th to 14th Streets.

The city's also looking forward to a future project on Margaret, from 14th to 25th Streets. That's still two years away, but would include building an overpass.

Meanwhile, crews will be beautifying 3rd Street, from Cherry to Poplar.

They'll be replacing sidewalks, putting in ADA ramps, fixing curbs and drainage, and also do some landscaping in the median.

The Margaret Avenue and 3rd Street projects are partly covered by state and federal money.

The city council is considering moving $1.6 million from the engineering EDIT fund to match it.
