CANDLES Receives Donation

A local museum is getting a donation that will help educate visitors about the Holocaust.
A local museum is getting a special gift from the 100+ Women of Vigo County.

Every few months, the women's organization votes for a non-profit to give funds to.

This month the recipient is CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center, Getting more than $20,000 to fund renovations for a new permanent exhibit.

The interactive exhibit will walk visitors through the different stages of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp

Eva Kor, the founding Director of CANDLES and 100+ member, says the new exhibit is an important teaching tool, "I think that some people have difficulty imagining the actual place and maybe they cannot go with me to Auschwitz every year when I go. They will have a better understanding of how that worked."

The new exhibit will be open to the public at the end of September.
