Bicknell Shooting Update

Two men are now dead after an argument in Bicknell. Police are still investigating to figure out the motive behind the incident.
Neighbors are still shaken today after gun fire went off in a Bicknell neighborhood overnight.

Two men got into an argument on Durbin and Cherry Streets, and now both of them are dead.

Indiana State Police and Bicknell Police have identified the man shot at about two in the morning.

Paul Russell of Bruceville was standing outside a residence on Durbin Street when he saw Todd Godare of Bicknell walking toward him.

Russell then ran into a near-by residence to grab a baseball bat before going back outside.

An argument took place, where Godare allegedly shot and killed Russell with a .22 Caliber Revolver.

Godare then left the scene and was spotted by Vincennes Police in his vehicle, where he eventually stopped on State Road 61 and shot himself.

Officers believe Godare used the same weapon to take his own life.

Sargent Todd Ringle, with the Indiana State Police said, "Well Godare was not going to stop, he didn't really try to run, he was driving the speed limit but he just wasn't stopped. Eventually about three to four minutes later, Godare stopped on State Road 61, near Kimmell Road, and that's where he shot and killed himself."

Both autopsies are scheduled for Thursday morning.

Police are still investigating.
