Arrest Made in Murder of Terre Haute Man Killed in Florida

Jay-Von Avery, 21, is being held on a first degree murder charge. He appeared in a Florida courtroom on Sunday morning. It's for the death of Kyle Lutes of Terre Haute. Lutes, 24, was a 2008 grad of Terre Haute South. Lutes' decomposed body was found last Saturday in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

UPDATE: New details tonight, as a murder suspect remains behind bars in a Florida jail, accused of killing a Terre Haute native.

Jay-Von Avery, 21,  appeared in a Florida courtroom Sunday morning.

He's held without bond, charged with the first degree murder of Kyle Lutes.

Police say he shot Lutes in the back of the head, and dumped his body in a wooded area.

Police were tipped off by the Avery's sister, who says he told her he shot someone.

According to court documents, Avery paid Lutes to use his car.

Lutes, 24, was a 2008 graduate of Terre Haute South.
