Curfew for Washington, IN Residents

It will run today, November 17, and tomorrow, November 18, from dusk until dawn. The curfew means that there are to be no citizens walking about throughout the city limits, nor should there be any driving on city roadways unless in the case of an emergency.
The Washington Police and Washington Mayor's Office has authorized a curfew to be placed in effect for the Washington area.

It will run November 17 and 18, from dusk until dawn.

The curfew means that there are to be no citizens walking about throughout the city limits, nor should there be any driving on city roadways unless in the case of an emergency.

Officials say it's all about keeping the community out of harm's way.

"If there not involved in it, if they don't have family the best thing to do for us is to go home and stay off the streets they're causing us more problems by being out here blocking traffic. We just don't need that right now," said Washington Police Chief Mike Healy.

Washington Police, Daviess County Sheriff's Department, and the Indiana State Police are working to ensure that areas effected by the storm are safe and secure.
