Community Mourns Loss of Well-Respected TH Native

Dave Cox, 61, passed away last week. For the past 14 years, served as the Sisters of Providence Media Relations manager. He had previously been the editor of the Terre Haute Tribune Star. His funeral is Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-Of-The-Woods.
The community came together on Monday to mourn the loss of a well-respected Terre Haute native.

It was the wake for Dave Cox, who passed away last week.    

The 61-year-old served as the Sisters of Providence Media Relations manager.

He had previously been the editor of the Terre Haute Tribune Star.

Cox is survived by this wife of 42 years, two children and two grandchildren.

Sunday would have been Dave's 14th anniversary with the Sisters of Providence, and those who worked alongside him call him an incredible ambassador and friend.

"He would know just the right word to say or the thank you to offer. He just had all kinds of people in the community that knew him," said Sister Ann Casper. "You never replace someone like Dave."

Visitation for Dave Cox continues Monday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

The funeral is Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Both are at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-Of-The-Woods.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sisters of Providence Ministries Office of Congregational Advancement.
