Parents could come to Terre Haute Chevrolet to have their car seats properly installed, for free.

Certified technicians were on hand to help make sure that your child is buckled up safely, and organizers say the few minutes it takes is well worth it.

"If we can reduce the chances of a child losing their life because of an improper installation of a seat, that's really what we're trying to do here, and make a difference in the Wabash Valley in doing so," said Brandon Halleck of Chances and Services for Youth.

There are some tips you can follow when installing your car seat:

Always make sure you have the correct seat for your child's height and weight.

If your child is under two-years-old, make sure they car seat is facing the rear of the vehicle.

Properly installed seats should not move more than an inch in any direction.
