Who says high school students get to have all the prom fun?
The United Way of the Wabash Valley hosted its first ever adult prom on Saturday night, and all over the Indiana Theater was "Big Hair and Bow Ties."
Hundreds came out to show their support and have a good time.
All of the money raised will support the United Way campaign.
The goal is to reach $1.85 million, and it's getting very close.
"Every time we do a special event, the community really steps up. They know there is a need here, they know the united way is working hard to fill those needs and make our community a better place. That's what makes the Wabash Valley a great place, everyone does step up when there is a need, to help out as much as they can and that makes it a lot of fun," said Troy Fears, executive director of the United Way of the Wabash Valley.
And NBC 2 is happy to be part of the adult prom team -- Tom McClanahan emceed the event, Katie Shane helped organize it, and Promotions Director Tim Sanders supplied the music.
