A little rain didn't slow down a fall tradition.

It was the 44th annual Cory Apple Festival.

Crowds enjoyed the fall favorite in many forms, a parade, and lots of crafts for sale.

16,000 people came out to this year's apple festival.

And one veteran volunteer of 40 years, says this year's event is better than ever.

"We have people come here from all all around the Wabash Valley. It's a reunion for the Cory people, they all come back and visit with us and everything. But we have a lot come from the outer lining areas. I think it's a great festival, we have plenty of food and great activities going on, and it's just a nice way to spend a fall weekend," said volunteer Lana Hendrix.

All of the proceeds go to the Cory Volunteer Fire Department.

In just three days, the festival brough in nearly $25,000
