Taylor Austin Claims 3rd MVC Title

Terre Haute, IN - Taylor Austin claimed her third straight MVC Title in the 3000 meter steeplechase on Saturday in a time of 10:20.01, 13 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.  Jaime Murtagh, Cassaundra Roper and Scott Schreiber also won titles.

Murtagh won the high jump with a leap  of 2.12m (6-11.50), holding off Francis Ehigbai of Illinois State.  Roper took home first place in the shot put.  Her throw of 15.78m (51-09.25) was good enough to win.  It was her first conference title since the 2017 indoor championships.  

Senior Scott Schreiber won the long jump with 7.40m (24-03.50) to overtake Eric Burns of Loyola for the title.  The Sycamore men are in first place heading into Sunday while the women are in third place.
