3/12/2014 8:46:59 PMIndiana State Police and agents from the US Marshal's Service arrested 23-year-old Christopher Williams of Bloomington. He's wanted on a felony warrant out of North Carolina for aggravated assault with a gun.

It'll raise money for Terre Haute Ministries. Bacon Fest is this Saturday, March 15 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. It's at the Indiana Theatre on 7th and Ohio. You can get tickets at the door for $10.

3/12/2014 3:49:05 PMVigo County Sheriff's officials have found a car believed to be used in last week's home invasion. The car was found in the rural Prairieton area. Police say the car was burnt and has several shotgun holes.
3/11/2014 9:45:37 PMIndiana State Police pulled over Gregory Phillips in Vincennes for failing to use a turn signal. During the traffic stop, police discovered the vehicle was stolen in 2012. Phillips is in the Knox County Jail facing a charge of theft.
3/11/2014 9:42:45 PMIndiana State Police are investigating bookkeeping records at the Terre Haute International Airport. In February, airport officials spotted something in the records that may not be legal. A forensic accountant is doing an audit of the past two years.

3/11/2014 3:48:16 PMThe City of Terre Haute is on the verge of a million-dollar facelift. It'll help pay for a "streetscape" project on Third Street, from Poplar to Cherry. From painting to planting and paving, it'll change the way Downtown Terre Haute looks. Beside the money from state, the improvements will be paid for with federal dollars and the city's Economic Development Income Tax. Most of the work could be finished later this year.
3/11/2014 3:45:04 PMIndiana State Police arrested David Keith Rudisel, 31, and Ashlee Marie Melvin, 30, both of Terre Haute, Monday night. They were pulled over for speeding, and the trooper found the driver Rudisel didn't have a valid license and passenger Melvin was wanted on a warrant. A K-9 sniffed out drugs in the car.
3/10/2014 10:40:55 PMIndiana lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow gun owners to have firearms in their cars in school parking lots, as long as the guns are hidden. Vigo County school superintendent Danny Tanoos says he believes it would be dangerous to let just anyone have a gun on school property, but understands that there are people who keep them in their cars and don't mean any harm.

3/7/2014 2:40:54 PMA Lawrence County, Indiana man is dead after a crash on State Road 67 in Lyons. State Police say a van, driven by 26-year-old Dakota Burnette of Oolitic, crossed the center line and collided with a semi truck. Burnette died at the scene.
3/6/2014 10:59:08 PMA semi truck caught fire on I-70 eastbound early Thursday afternoon near mile marker 12 in Vigo County. No one was injured, but the incident slowed traffic for over an hour.

3/5/2014 5:44:32 PMA car driven by Jody Allen Bush of Terre Haute crashed into a bale of hay on State Road 46 in Clay County on Tuesday night. Police say they found 61 hypodermic needles, drugs and other paraphernalia. Bush is in the Clay County Jail.

An investigation revealed Thornell engaged in sexual acts with juvenile boys, and sent a naked picture of himself to them via social media. He's charged with sexual misconduct of a minor and distribution of matter harmful to a minor.

The number of moviegoer's has dropped by around 75 percent in the last 15 years. Officials say even after the last film is shown, they hope the memories of the theater will live on.

Even though the Bulldogs are playing in next week's sectionals, this was the last time the team will took the court in front of the home crowd.
3/1/2014 9:31:22 PMThe 5th annual Marsh Madness continued in Linton. Bird watchers gathered to Humphreys Park for events, class and some arts and crafts. Visitors could also watch a large migration of sandhill cranes, as some 7,000 to 10,000 cranes were in the area. The Linton marsh is one of the largest in the country, and supporters says it's a Wabash Valley treasure.

Starting in September, your call will not go through unless you dial all ten digits, then come October, all new numbers issued will have a 930 area code. 3/1/2014 4:51:00 PMAfter a day and a half without service, phone lines should be back up and running for Sullivan County residents. Frontier officials say a fiber optic cable is to blame, but it's now been fixed. Some in Sullivan were without a working landline for nearly 36 hours.
3/1/2014 3:37:43 PMPolice responded to reports of a suicidal subject Friday evening at a home in Linton. They found James Jarman on a back porch with a gun that he would not hand over. As officers began to negotiate with the 48-year-old, a conflict ensued and shots were fired. Jarman was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

2/28/2014 10:42:51 AMIt happened at the intersection of Bedford and Billings Road. According to police, a car didn't stop and pulled into the path of a box truck. Both vehicles were thrown into a field. The driver of the car, Sharon Neely, 75, of Washington, was pronounced dead at the scene.
2/28/2014 10:04:39 AMJonathan Harness, 43, and his wife Buffy Harness, 44, were arrested Wednesday. The duo was wanted out of Morgan County, Indiana. Teams from Indiana State Police, the local sheriff's department and U.S. Marshal's Task Force found them at a hotel in Columbus, Indiana. They're each facing eight felonies and are held on bond at the Morgan County Jail.
