Watch for Racing Cyclists

Sullivan, IN - Drivers in Sullivan County should be on the lookout for hundreds of cyclists who will be traveling through the county this week.

The bicyclists are competing in the 36th annual 'Race Across America'. The race is a test of extreme endurance.

The competitors and their safety crews will enter Indiana and Sullivan County on State Road 154. They'll move along as quickly as they can. In principle, the race is non-stop for 3,000 miles.

The trek started in Oceanside, California. It will travel through twelve states before ending in Annapolis, Maryland.

Typically, a solo rider will finish in eleven days. Relay teams in the competition complete the race in about seven days.
