Tail-A-Thon Success

Terre Haute - Some cute animals are better off tonight thanks to the contributions of many people in the Wabash Valley.

On Thursday afternoon, we held the Annual Tail-A-Thon on WAWV and WTWO.

We broadcasted live from Honey Creek Mall and were able to raise over $11,000 for the Terre Haute Humane Society. It was a lot of fun, and the result of the hard work of the people connected with Humane Society.

We also want to thank Heritage Animal Hospital for their sponsorship and Frontier Communications for setting up the phone bank.

The money generated by the Tail-A-Thon is essential to the Humane Society.

"We depend on donations from the Wabash Valley Community that's how we are able to care for the animals, keep the lights on, keep the doors open and pay our employees," said Ray Buechler of the Terre Haute Humane Society.

Also, helping out today were many people from the community including members of the ISU Men's Basketball Team and Mayor Duke Bennett.

This was the 11th Annual Tail-A-Thon.

And of course, you can help the Humane Society anytime by contacting them directly.
