Suspicious Woman Detained At North Daviess Elementary

Daviess County, IN - One woman was detained after a suspicious encounter at North Daviess Elementary School Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Daviess County Sheriff's Office, earlier Tuesday around 2:27 P.M., Desiree Munz, 53, of Beech Grove, IN, came to North Daviess Elementary School in Elnora to seek information on her children.

There was a deputy on duty at the school when she arrived, and she was not an intruder.

She was confronted by the deputy and NDES staff in the office immediately and no child or staff member were in any danger at any time.

It was later determined that Munz has no child enrolled in the North Daviess Community School system.

Munz was detained and escorted out of school and off the school property without incident.

While speaking with the deputy, Munz identified herself as a Federal Agent and demanded to see her kids.

The Daviess County Sheriff's Office knew that information was false due to prior contacts wih her and charges will be forwarded to the Daviess County Prosecutor's Office for review for Personating a Public Official and Criminal Trespass.

Due to Munz's history with other agencies, the local mental health facility was notified to assist her and the investigation continues into this matter.
