St. Mary-of-the-Woods, IN - There was no class today at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College, so students could volunteer for Foundation Day.
Faculty, staff and alumni also joined the effort, donating their time to service projects around the campus. Crews chipped in to work on everything from painting to landscaping
"We come out here, we get a great education. So to give back and pick-up sticks and leaves, I mean it's nothin' compared to the education we get out here," said sophomore Nathan Higbie.
Not all the project were for the campus. Some students made bowls that will be used during Catholic Charities Soup Bowl Benefit.
The school established the work-day to honor the charitable spirit of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, the founder of the college.
