A local hospital has sued Terre Haute and Vigo County for non-payment of healthcare services for city and county jail inmates.

The Sullivan Daily Times reports Regional Hospital filed the action earlier this year. Last week the case was venued to Sullivan County.

The suit claims Regional treated inmates but was not paid for the services. The commissioners and sheriff's department dispute the laws that Regional claims obligates them to pay.

Regional cites a contract from 2005 as it's legal claim to the payments.  The defendants have asked for a jury trial that will now be held in Sullivan County.
