Local Veterans Honored Nationally

WASHINGTON D.C. - Today eleven Vietnam veterans from Indiana became a part of national history.

They're among the more than 400 that were inducted into Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund's "In Memory Program."

Which honors vets whose lives were lost as a result of their service in Vietnam but are not eligible for inscription on The Wall under department of defense guidelines.

Some of the vets honored are from the Wabash Valley:

Donald Leon Rose of the U.S. Army from Sullivan... September 2, 1931 - February 9, 2001.

Michael Eugene Stephens of the U.S. Air Force from Bicknell... June 10, 1948 - May 22, 2014.

Two thousand attendees came for the ceremony in Washington D.C..
