Carly Rice died earlier this year after a bicycle accident. The nine-year-old played softball on the fields of West Terre Haute. Saturday members of the league dedicated a shelter in her honor. Vice president Wade Fulford says being able to honor Carly's memory is special to all the members of the club.
"She was a pillar of this ball park. She was always here and always goofing around, and this is her park just as much as it is everybody's. It belongs here. She belongs here," said Fulford.
Saturday's season finale also featured a home run derby and a hot dog eating contest.
