It didn't take long for north Vermillion residents to step up and help out their fellow neighbors.
A tornado ripped through the county, taking out a church and even overturning a CSX train car.
The severe weather also destroyed two homes in the area.
But just hours after the skies had cleared, volunteers were out cleaning up wreckage, and putting the community back together.
"People would not be able to get the repairs done to briefly and the debris cleaned up without volunteers, and people are just lending a helping hand whenever they can possibly do it," said Vermillion County Sheriff Bob Spence.
Two men inside one of homes destroyed in the severe weather were sent to a local hospital with head injuries, but officials say they were not life-threatening.
