The Union Hospital foundation is helping better the healthcare profession in the Wabash Valley.
Twenty-three students representing 11 different colleges and universities went home with scholarships Wednesday night.
The Hospital Foundation gave out more than $35,000 in scholarships.
Students selected for the awards had to pursue degrees in medical related fields, such as nursing , or pre-medicine to be eligible.
Union Hospital Foundation Executive Director Joel Harbaugh says it's all advancing the quality of healthcare in the Wabash Valley, “Scholarships are providing a qualified workforce for healthcare of the future in the Wabash Valley,"
The Hospital has been awarding the scholarships since 1985.
In total they've given out over $500,000 to nearly 500 students.
