The summer is quickly winding down And so is a local "Junior Ranger" program.

Saturday marked the second-to-last installment of the the "Junior Ranger" program.
The theme for the day  was three forts days.
It showed participants what it's like to be a Native American, as well as a French, British, or American soldier stationed in Vincennes.
Organizers called it a great way to learn about local history.

"The biggest thing is that being a national park we're focused on the visitors that come here from all over the country, state, and even the world. Often we don't do a lot to reach our own community and this was kind of born out of that mindset," Jason Collins, a park ranger said.

The final "Junior Ranger" series will happen on Saturday September 13 from 1-4 p.m.
Its theme will be archeology day.
Registration is free and open to the public.
